Strizzis / 2020

Das Projekt ist im Rahmen eines Forschungssemesters zum Thema
-Gendersensibles Design- entstanden und wird von 25.09. - 03.10.2020 in der Ausstellung "GENDERSENSIBEL! - Design für Räume, Produkte und Debatte" auf der Vienna Design Week gezeigt.

STRIZZIS is an approach to a gender-neutral toy which wants to improve free expression of imagination and emotions in kids. It consists of 6 building blocks with different haptic add-ons and features.

The project was realised during a research semester under the topic of “Gendersensibles Design”. We found out that there are still too many existing stereotypes which lead to gender differences in the way kids perceive and express feelings. As Kindergartens and playful interactions are often places where many different emotions and therefore stereotypes intertwine, we focused on creating a toy which can be subtle implemented in any room. The forms are both, easily stackable and made to be used in an unlimited variety of constellations thanks to an implementation of Velcro fasteners on the surface. Our approach was to use shapes, colours and materiality that kids are already familiar and confident with to create an easy and trusting play environment.

Finally, our main goal was to help raising awareness that specific emotions are not bound to gender. We think, that this has to be taught from a very young age to look towards a more gender-sensitive future.

Seilschaft goes Feldkirch / 2020

For the city of Feldkirch/Austria, the Seilschaft was redesigned and found a beautiful new home. During a public action in the old town in July 2020, passengers were invited to build up a wooden stool. The stools could then be carried around the city, passed on to someone or clamped together for enjoying a rest together. The goal was to create a dynamic atmosphere and bring people back together after the pandemic lock-down. After a joyful weekend, the stools found a permanent home in three different design shops or cafes around the city where they can still be used or rented out.

Elsie / 2019

Not only during the intense carpentry focus at university but also in my free time, I am spending a lot of time in the wood workshop, meditating over my favourite material. I love to work with wood and to imagine that my projects forming characters of their own:

This one is Elsie. She is as filigree as she sounds. She loves to wear delightful clothing but dislikes to be reduced to her physical appearance. Therefore, she proves herself in carrying hangers and turns out to be steady and sturdy whilst.

ZeitRaum / 2018

Zeitraum was the very first realised project of my design course. In that exciting time full of new experiences and shifting changes, the aim was to give visibility to the space we tend to overlook: the space-in-between. ZeitRaum is a concept for an interactive rocking chair object that wants to contribute to an active, undisturbed finding of balance by creating space for oneself and consciously doing-nothing. It runs on a mechanism consisting of two intersecting circle segments that move in opposite directions. If you lean back and are able to find your personal center of gravity, the object forms into a shielded capsule.

MA, did you know?

In Japan, there is a word which describes balance as "the void between two things":
間 (MA) assumes that this void, an in-between space , is full of possibilities and essential for the whole to take shape.

LiTE / 2019

LiTE is a playful light object.

Made from various material leftovers, the project tries to foreground their underrated aesthetics. A metal spring serves as an interactive light dimmer, staged fiberglass fabric is responsible for various shade effects. Wood scraps add stability and blue plexiglass becomes the lamps signature move.
