Strizzis, 2020

Girls dont shout, boys dont cry. As found out in a research about gendersensitive design, there are still a shocking amount of existing stereotypes that lead to gender differences in the way kids perceive and express their feelings. Therefore, Strizzis is an approach to a gender-neutral toy which wants to foster free expression of emotions in kids. It consists of 6 building blocks with haptic add-ons that should help kids develop a sensitivity towards their feelings and imagination.  As Kindergartens are often places where many different emotions and therefore stereotypes intertwine, we focused our research on creating a neutral toy which can be subtle implemented in any classroom and provides a safe space for any kind of emotional expression.
